Below are the highlights of v9 release:

New Features

  1. Complete Visibility for Resource Management: Get an accurate view of resource load, utilization, capacity and efficiency for better resource planning and management. Get 5 out-of-the-box reports for total resource workload. management. You can fully customize these or even create new reports to suit your business needs. You can also specify a range for optimal resource load.
  2. Salesforce.com Integration: With Celoxis’ Salesforce.com app, sales teams can initiate, assign, manage and track customer projects within the bounds of Salesforce. This integration is currently in the final stages of Salesforce.com app security review and will be available in Salesforce.com’s AppExchange soon. 
  3. Slice-n-dice your date-specific data: With new month and year columns, leave the guesswork out and directly abstract valuable information from your date-specific data to aid in decision making. 
  4. Custom Apps:
    1. Create ‘Draft’ apps: Start defining your custom apps and leave them as inactive till you are ready to launch them in your organization. 
    2. Restrict clients from initiating certain project apps: Shield your internal business processes from project clients by restricting access.
    3. Support Subscriber List for an app: Attach subscribers to always receive notification on changes or updates to app items.

Usability Enhancements

  1. Copy Tasks from Project: Quickly copy repetitive tasks across projects and build your WBS faster.
  2. Task Timers: Directly start timers from your tasks or project apps. Active timer is prominently displayed on the main menu for quick recall. 
  3. Collapse All in Interactive Gantt: The ‘Collapse All’ button in the Interactive Gantt now collapses all sub-tasks to the summary nodes. 
  4. Simplify Task Update via Email: Quickly send your updates without logging time. The subject line has been simplified to prevent user errors.
  5. Simplify Task’s Action Dropdown: We have refreshed the task’s action drop down to make it easier for users to report updates on their activities.

Security Improvements 

  1. Changing your password will now prompt you to also enter your old password.
  2. The "Forgot Password or Login" page now requires the CAPTCHA  to prevent bots or automated programs.

Other Improvements

  1. Custom field of type Multi-select drop-down can now be attached to a Task and its value can be entered/modified from the Interactive Gantt.
  2. The Incomplete timesheet reminder emails can now be toggled as a user preference.

Bug Fixes

  1. The Celoxis logo appeared in large size in some email clients like Outlook, GMail. This has now been fixed.
  2. API: Cloning a project will also clone the custom field information.
  3. The 'One Click Approve' for time-entries approved all time-entries visible to the Approver; although the user did not have Approve privilege for it.
  4. The number representation of system id’s in reports had commas. This is now fixed. 
  5. The ‘Work Item’ column did not show the data properly when exporting the report via CSV. 
  6. The User:Workspace filter in the Incomplete/Missing time report was not working. This is now corrected.
  7. Converting a generic (non-login) resource to a login resource now sends an email to that user with the login details.
  8. The constraint of new tasks will now remain as ‘ASAP’.
  9. Changing the date of predecessor task changed the ‘ASAP’ constraint of the successor task to SNET. This will now remain ‘ASAP’.

Discontinued Items

  1. Task Types: Task Types, which were deprecated in v8 have been removed in this release. Existing task types have been migrated as custom fields (attached to tasks).
  2. Support for IE9 has been discontinued.
