The Activity Log or the Activity Stream report is a single place/report which gives you an overview of all your work items. You The "Activity Stream" provides up-to-the-minute streaming updates and keeps all your conversations in one place. You can directly add comments to work items you are following and/or have view rights to from this report directly. 
You can add filters to view work items that you are following or view actions: Created, Updated, Modified.
