Roles
The Roles are used to control security. A user plays a particular role State managers are users who are responsible when an app is in a particular Workspace. For example, In the "Lead Tracking" process the roles may be "Sales Manager", "Sales Co-ordinator" and so on. Roles are assigned privileges (who can do what).
Once you create the roles and workspace, you can now assign the roles to the user they play in a Workspace when adding/editing a user.
When you create a workflow instance and assign the user to it, the privileges are inherited with the Workspace and Role privilege. state. Through this tab you can specify who will play State Managers for specific states in your app.

- Company level (i.e. - All Workspaces -)
- Workspace level
- Project level
- Defining State Managers can each subsequent levels will override its parent value. For example, defining a state manager for a state at - All Workspaces - will automatically apply to all workspaces and projects under them. Now you can choose to override the defaults for a specific workspace or a specific project.
