Celoxis sends email notifications on work items when you are either:

Implicitly associated with that work item, e.g., assigned to the task/app item, or a Project Manager, or a State Manager for a particular app item.
OR
Explicitly following work items that you do not own and need updates.

You can reply to any work item email notifications received from Celoxis, which will then add a comment to the respective work item. You can even attach files to your reply. These notifications also include a link to that work item for viewing within the application.

Managing Email Preferences

Users implicitly associated with work items (e.g. task assignees) can toggle their email notifications as needed from "My Settings" under the user avatar. For exact steps, refer here. On the other hand, when users are explicitly added as followers either by themselves (i.e. clicking on the 'Follow this item') or by another user, emails are automatically sent to them on updates to work items. There are no separate email preferences for explicitly added followers.

Unsubscribe from Emails

All emails from Celoxis contain a link to unsubscribe from emails or manage email preferences. For users implicitly associated with work items, clicking on the link will pull up their email preferences view in Celoxis. Users can then manage their email preferences from here.

For followers, clicking on the "Unfollow this item" link from the email will automatically remove them from the Follower's list for that work item.

You need to have View task privilege to be ale to receive emails about the updates. Similarly, you need Add Comment privilege to add comments to work items via email.
