Copying or moving the task copies the duration, schedule type, work, resource allocation, budget, estimated costs, documents, Security (object level) etc. You can set a different start date for the clone and the finish date will be computed.
To clone a task to a different project, you can first copy the task, and then move it across the projects. This also copies the same task attributes mentioned above.
To copy a task in a project :
- Go to the Gantt of your project.
- Select a task and click on the Copy icon or press Ctrl+C on the keyboard.
- Now, select the task under which you want to paste the task. You can do this my clicking on the paste icon or Ctrl+V on the keyboard The new task is now seen under the task.
To Move a task to another project :
- Go to the Gantt of your project.
- Select the task you want to copy to another project.
- From the Gantt menu bar, click on More.
- Click on Move.
- On the pop-up window, select the appropriate option to select the project and click on Next.
