The Notification center allows the users to receive updates on items they are following or assigned. The purpose is to eliminate the sole dependency on emails to communicate about work updates.
A user needs to have "View" privilege to the work item to be able to receive the in-app notifications or mentions.

In-App Notifications

The in-app notifications include updates about new include new work assignments, modification to work items one is currently working on, and updates on tasks, reply to a discussion you are currently working on or or conversations on tasks and discussions that one is following.  

   

 


 

 

@Mentions

Using @mentions, you can directly address a user in work item communication , thus getting the user's attention to on it.



You can mention a user while:

  • Adding a comment on a task.
  • Updating a task progress.
  • Performing an action (transition), reassigning or adding a comment to an app item.
  • Adding or replying to a discussion.

. You can @mention a user using his/her email address, login name the Name or Login; whichever is unique. If more than one user has a similar name, you will be presented with the user dopdrop-down to pick the relevant user. 

 Mentions is not available for client logins. However, a client can mention the users when replying to discussions or app items.
