At times, you need to track updates on work items where you are not assigned but are related to the work you're doing. By following a work item:

  • You get updates via email notifications about the updated on the work items.
  • You can even reply to the emails, which will then add your comments against that work item.
Follow

Following a work item

By default, the assignee of the task and is a great way to stay up-to-date with its updates and comments. If you follow a task, you see its updates in the Activity Stream and receive instant email notifications.

Follow a Work item

Assignees of a task or app item and the State Manager/Project Manager are the implicit assignee's of an app item. Additionally, one can follow an app item by:

  1. Run the "My Open items" report or any other report showing you the app items.
  2. From the actions drop-down of the app item, click on 'Follow this item'. You are now the explicit follower of the app item.

Managing Followers

automatically follow that task or app item. To begin following a work item:

  1. Click on "Follow this item" link from the work item's view pane.
  2. Alternatively, go to the task or app item's three-line actions menu and click "Follow this item".

Managing Followers

The creator of a work item (or anybody who can edit the work item) can also manage the follower list for that work item. To do so, click on the pencil-shaped icon under the Followers section from the work item's view pane.

  • To unfollow a work item, click on Unfollow this item from the actions drop down of the respective itemits three line actions menu or its view pane. To unsubscribe from emails, click here.
  • You need to be able to view a work item to be able to follow it or receive updates on it.
