Due to a few variances between Celoxis and Microsoft Project, 2-way synchronization can at times throw a few surprises. In order to achieve seamless integration between Celoxis and Microsoft Project it is important to understand these differences.

In Celoxis
In Microsoft Project
You can enter start and finish dates for a task without entering a constraint.When start or finish dates are entered for a task, they are converted to constraints. Besides, you can only have one constraint at a time. So you cannot enter both, start and end.
Resource allocation can be entered in hours(h) or as a percentage (%).Allocations can be entered only in percentage.
As Late as Possible (ALAP) constraint is supported.As Late as Possible (ALAP) constraint is not supported.
Custom fields created in MSP are not imported to Celoxis.Custom fields created in Celoxis are not imported to MSP.
  • When tasks are exported to Microsoft project, allocation in hours is converted into % (percent).
  • When exporting a project with baseline from Celoxis, it is imported as Baseline in MS Project
