Celoxis 6.5 Release notes

With v6.5, Celoxis continues with the philosophy of providing most-wanted features, improving usability and enhancing speed. 
What's New:
  1. Interactive Gantt :
    1. Manual save mode has been introduced and is now the default save mode. In this mode every change is not sent to the server; rather you can make multiple changes and click on save, resulting in increased productivity.
    2. Keyboard shortcuts have been added for more common actions.
    3. Printing capabilities have been greatly enhanced. The "Fit" to a paper-size option makes it easy to print your views on the paper of your choice.
    4. Performance has been increased by 200%. Working with thousands of tasks is a breeze.
  1. Invoicing : Time-entries and expenses can now be marked as "Invoiced". A special privilege "Invoice" has also been introduced.
  2. User-based Billing : You have the option of choosing between User-based billing and Time code-based billing at an organisation level. In User-based billing, billing rates can  be defined on a user. 
  3. Estimated Billing: If you choose user-based billing, you can view the estimated billing for projects and tasks.
  4. Usability Enhancements: 
    1. Search capability has been added while selecting columns, sort by and group by in reports.
    2. You can search across multiple objects (projects, tasks, documents, etc.) 
    3. The favorite reports have been moved back into the main menu from the sub-menu to reduce clicks.
  5. Improved form accessibility : Submit forms by hitting the 'Enter' key.
Changes :
  1. Rate history has been removed. From support tickets and analysis of data, we realized that rate history was confusing and not used correctly by end users. It ended up causing more problems rather than simplifying rate management. We finally took the tough call to eliminate rate history i.e. there is no longer an  "effective since" date for the user cost rate and the bill rates. The screen to add or modify rates is now greatly simplified. The side effect is that to update rates in the past, you will have to manually enter them in time entries. Something that will be made even easier when we introduce bulk-edit for time entries.
  2. The Load checking when assigning resources to a task has been removed for performance purposes.
  3. You will now be able to change the cost rate and bill rates per time entry via the edit screen itself.
  4. The Start and Ceiling Price on the New/Edit project page has been removed. 
  5. The Charging Model section on the New/Edit project page renamed to Billing Model.
  6. Changes to the Add/Edit User page :
    1. The fields on the page re-organized for better comprehension.
    2. Ability to enter User cost rate or Bill rate (incase of User based billing model) when adding/editing a user.
    3. Fields like - Locale, Input date format, Display date format, Photo now available under the “Preferences” tab.
