Celoxis 6.0 Release Notes

Major release after version 5.1. It has numerous enhancements and behavioral changes. 


User Interface

  1. Minor reorganization helped reclaim up to 40% more screen real estate.

  2. Many actions are performed via speedy AJAX pop-ups which helps retain context, reduce clicks and improve overall speed

  3. Consolidated toolbar

    1. All resources (users, clients, contacts) consolidated under single People menu.

    2. Directly open a ticket, view documentation, access the community forums from the Help menu

    3. Personal settings and Logout options consolidated under profile menu

  4. Improved ability to quickly add task, documents, discussions to recent or current projects and tasks

  5. LHS report panel under projects can be collapsed to gain more real estate

  6. Client dashboard introduced similar to user dashboard

     

Project Management

  1. Task worksheet replaced with interactive Gantt

  2. Interactive Gantt enhancements

    1. Ability to resize the LHS/RHS panes of the Gantt

    2. Collapse Gantt part to make it work like Task worksheet

    3. Ability to add multiple tasks.

    4. Drag and drop to reorder tasks

    5. Added Print ability

    6. Export as image/PDF (with multi-page option) to share with others (Beta)

    7. Add documents, time and expense using Gantt menu. 

    8. The ‘Search’ on Gantt searches for task names and Resources.

    9. Removed ‘Full Screen’.

  3. Baselining

    1. Import/Export baseline from/to Microsoft Project

    2. EVA now based on baseline

  4. Scheduling enhancements

    1. Tasks with no resources now factored in when computing % complete of summary tasks and project

    2. Projected dates for tasks with no progress calculated assuming today as the start date

    3. Resources can have > 100% allocation

    4. For tasks with multiple resources, the work is proportionately divided based on their individual allocation

  5. Ability to add and edit tasks individually.

  6. Enter billing details while creating projects

  7. Phone logs attached to tasks migrated to task notes

  8. Convenient progress update shortcuts 25, 50, 75 and 100% for tasks

  9. Added dynamic role ‘Task Team’ for more customizable access control

  10. Exposed the ‘Edit Time entry’ privilege. This is automatically granted to the ‘Approver’ and ‘Owner’ role.

  11. Project document report now includes documents attached to tasks, discussions and processes.

  12. Ability to set multiple timers on tasks.

     

Timesheets

  1. Enter %complete and update on tasks when filling weekly time

  2. Simplified approval process

  3. Added one-click approve option

  4. Removed detailed bulk approve screen

  5. Removed policy ‘Allow users to fill time on tasks not assigned to them’ as tasks visible are controlled by security

  6. Customize number of rows visible for non project time on weekly screen


Expenses

  1. Simplified approval workflow

Collaboration

  1. Improved workflow to move documents across folders

  2. Improved presentation of promptable filters -- reduces clutter and improves readability

  3. Expand/Collapse in hierarchical reports remembered across log in sessions

Custom Fields

  1. Now available for users, clients and contacts

  2. Same field shareable across entities

  3. Mark fields as secure -- visible only to users with financial privileges

  1. Import custom fields via CSV for users and clients
