Reporting Manager

Every user you create in Celoxis can have a Reporting Manager. Reporting managers basically have visibility into their reportees work so that they can manage resources more effectively.

To add a Reporting Manager:

  1. Login as user with administrator privileges and click on View > Users.
  2. When adding/editing a user, you will see the Reporting Manager drop-down where you can set the Manager for the selected resource. 

You can only select user as a Reporting Manager if he/she can login to Celoxis since they will need to do approvals and view workload. You cannot set Reporting Manager hierarchy such that it causes cyclic dependency.

How does setting a Reporting Manager help

As a simple rule, the Reporting Manager can "view" what his/her reportees can view. With this, the Manager can understand what his/her resources are working on to effectively manage resource utilization. Moreover, you can set the policy that the Reporting Manager can approve/reject time-entries of his/her reportees. 

The “My Subordinates” option in filters like: Team, Resource i.e. in user pick list will quickly help you to see the work details instead of manually selecting your sub-ordinates in reports.
