Resource Assignment
Celoxis lets you specify who works on a task and for how long. You can assign multiple resources on the same task having equal or different allocations.
Allocation can be specified either in percentage or in hours. Â
Percentage indicates "% of the working hours" the resource should spend working on a task. The hours indicate the ‘total’ hours that the resource should spend on the task in the duration.
Percentage (%)
A resource 'Derek' works from Monday to Friday = 36 hours i.e 8 hours from Monday to Thursday & 4 hours on Friday as follows :
Days | Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Work Calendar | 8 | 8 | 8 | 8 | 4 |
Now, when you allocate him as 100% and 50% on a task (starts Monday and finishes on Friday), he will be allocated as follows. You will see this on the Resource Load Chart.
Allocation | Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
100% | 8 | 8 | 8 | 8 | 4 |
50% | 4 | 4 | 4 | 4 | 2 |
Hours
If the same resource was allocated to a task for 9h for Monday to Friday, then the RLC for that week will look as follows :
Days | Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Work Calendar | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 1 |
The allocation methods of a task should be same i.e you cannot assign resources on a task with one in % and one in hours.
