Performing an action

After a user has completed his/her activity, he can perform an action to move the item into the next state.

To perform an action:

  1. Go to the app item.
  2. Click its actions . The possible action(s) for the item are listed first.
  3. Enter your Comments.
  4. Click the Assigned To drop-down list and select the assignee for the next state. This is only visible if the intended action requires a next assignee to be selected by the user.
  5. For project items, you can also enter the Hours you have spent on the item and select the appropriate Time Code. This is only visible if time-logging is enabled on the App.
Checking the Send For Approval, will submit the time-entries for approval to the PM.
  6. Select Notify Requestor option, if you want to notify the requestor of the app item. This field is only visible if the Use Requestor Field? is checked when defining the App.
  7. Click Submit.

A user who is assigned to the App item state has implicit privileges to perform any actions defined from that state. If you need others to be able to perform actions then you need to explicitly give them Perform Action privilege.
