Project Custom Fields

Sometimes the available (in built) fields in a project may not be sufficient and you may feel the need to procure some more information specific to your industry or domain.

Celoxis provides you with the ability to create custom fields that allow you to capture the relevant information. For example, a company may have a policy to take an ‘Advance’ for a project. Celoxis does not have a default field called ‘Advance’ but it equips you to create such a field that displays the specific information. You can also use custom fields to include formulas that incorporate existing project fields and other custom fields to calculate data. Since these custom fields can be unique to your organization, there is no limit to the number of fields that you can have. Project custom fields are specific to project categories. This allows greater flexibility since different types of projects may have different types of fields. Project fields can also be shared across categories. This increases re-usability, maintains uniformity and reduces maintenance.

Benefits

  • Custom Fields are available in reports. You can filter, sort and group reports by them.
  • You can analyze important statistics on custom field information and this information can be displayed in tabular as well as in graphical (Pie, Bar, Bubble charts) format. This comes in handy when you need to analyze the data of various departments or verticals within your company. Pie chart or bar chart is easy to read, handles large data, shows percent of total for each category and is visually appealing.
